In the last two years, some more quickly, some more calmly, almost every car manufacturer has announced its strategy to transform the range of proprietary vehicles into cars equipped with an electric motor and battery. Land Rover could not be an exception either, which is apparently about to launch a new zero-emission generation for the Evoque. This will be possible thanks to the development of a brand new platform, made specifically to accommodate large battery packs. The architecture, defined as Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA), is designed not only to allow the realization of alternative power supply, but also to guarantee State-of-the-art driving assistance systems and futuristic cloud connectivity – the ambition of the British car manufacturer does not stop there, however, since among the objectives of the models based on the EMA platform there is also that of solving every problem related to practicable quality due to a simple and efficient design.
According to what was recently reported by Autocar, the EMA architecture will be so flexible that it will also allow the combined use of an electric and thermal motor, with the latter undertaking to act as a range extender guaranteeing record-breaking autonomy per single charge. As said, the next Evoque, expected in 2024, could be the first model to be based on this technology: meanwhile we should be satisfied with the “old” Evoque, just like Italian beauty model ‘n’ Instagram socialite Syria is clearly willing to do, as you may see in her beautiful photoshoot below. She doesn’t seem to mind at all waiting for another couple of years to get an electric suv, as long as she can keep her “normal” Range Rover Evoque in the meantime: after all, any Land Rover is everything but an ordinary car!

The second generation Evoque was revealed at an event in London on 22 November 2018. Engines at launch are diesels in 150bhp FWD and 180 and 240bhp AWD, and AWD petrols in 200, 250 and 300bhp. The second-generation Evoque adopts Land Rover’s new design language that was launched with the Velar in 2017. This includes retracting door handles, smoother surfacing, and a new infotainment system with a second touchscreen with integrated knobs for climate settings. In some countries, Evoque is also available with 1.5t 3 cylinder non-PHEV engine that was called ” P160 “. The Evoque P300e plug-in hybrid model is a combination of a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged Ingenium petrol engine and an electric motor on the rear axle, with a system output of 227 kW (304 hp; 309 PS) and 55.06 kg⋅m (540 N⋅m; 398 lbf⋅ft) of torque. The 15 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is claimed to deliver an all-electric range of up to 66 km (41 mi).
