Suzuki launched in November 2018 the most extreme version of its GSX-R1000R superbike. The Suzuki GSX-R1000R Ryuyo takes its name from Suzuki’s legendary test track, reputed to be the fastest in the world.
The track was designed by Mitsou Ito, the only Japanese winner of the Isle of Man TT, who included many features of the infamous island circuit in his 6.5km test circuit. The track-only superbike has 210 horsepower and saw Suzuki engineers focus on acceleration, handling and braking, making tyre traction, stability and grip a crucial factor in achieving the performance goals. In addition to the well proven, world championship winning, Dunlop KR108 rear tyre in 205/60R17 size, the project also marks the OE debut of the new KR109 front tyre (Size: 125/80R17).
The Suzuki GSX-R1000 Ryuyo went on sale on November 10th 2018: the Special Edition variant wass limited to just 20 units, each one to be made by Suzuki Moto Italia. Each unit is priced at €29,990 (INR 25.52 lakh approx, direct conversion) and comes with 212 HP of maximum power. The name is derived from Suzuki’s own R&D center in Ryuyo where all new models are tested before they enter production at different locations.
The first factor in weight reduction is material use, which clearly comes to be carbon fiber in this case. Suzuki teamed up with market leaders from the component market and made this machine with lightweight and best possible parts of all time. Some prominent names among all are Yoshimura, Dunlop, Brembo, Ohlins, Motul, and K&N. Complete specifications for the model are arriving at EICMA 2018, leaving buyers with time to decide if the premium is worth consideration for their use or not. The motorcycle is really exclusive and very well priced for its level of sophistication.
A complete photo shoot with every possible angle is available for the motorcycle. The bike comes with 119 Nm of impressive torque and uses fully adjustable Ohlins NIX30 front forks and TTX GP monoshock for a stable ride. Even after weighing so low, the GSX-R1000 Ryuyo Edition comes with a fully functional headlight and taillight. The bike comes with a custom front end that supports a bigger visor, single-seat layout with compact rear cowl and many more added goodies for that perfect superbike feel. A stock GSX-R1000 comes with 202 HP of maximum power and weighs close to 200kg with full fuel and all fluids.
