Photoshoot of the Week: April 13th-19th 2020 – Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R & Merve

The 2020 Kawasaki ZX6R comes from a long line of successful supersport motorcycles that were introduced to the world in 1995: with a lineage that stretches back nearly 25 years, the ZX-6R Ninja is one of the longest running sportsbikes still currently in production. And when you consider the current state of the inline 4-pot sportsbike market, which is currently only inhabited by a handful of bikes, it’s long life and ongoing success make it all the more an impressive machine. Eleven generations of engineering and evolution have led to the ZX6R having a 636 cc inline 4 engine that produces 127 crank HP and 52 lbs-ft of crank torque. As well, a slightly modified digital fuel injection system sees the model meet both the Euro 4 and Euro 5 emissions regulations.
The ZX6R, like its predecessors, is known for sharp and angular styling as well as highly responsive handling. This continues in 2020 with only minor aesthetic tweaks, otherwise keeping the ABS, traction control, multifunction LCD, suspension geometry, and World SBK derived aluminum frame from the 2019 model year. The KRT Edition, much like the ZX10R KRT, is different only in that it replaces the standard fairings with ones painted in the Kawasaki Racing Team colors with appropriate decals as well. Anyway the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is available with two new paint schemes overseas for 2020 – Candy Steel Furnace Orange and Lime Green/Ebony.
It should come as no surprise that the ZX-6R features a full complement of rider-assist technology including a quickshifter (up only), slipper clutch, three-mode Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), two-way selectable power mode, and the ABS models are also equipped with Kawasaki Intelligent antilock Braking System (KIBS) as well. Large 310mm rotors and Nissin four-piston calipers provide the braking power and feel riders have come to expect from these modern bikes. More specifically KTRC, Kawasaki´s advanced traction control system provides both enhanced sport riding performance and the peace of mind to negotiate slippery surfaces with confidence. Multiple rider-selectable modes (the number of modes varies by model) offer progressively greater levels of intrusion to suit the riding situation and rider preference.
All of this performance is wrapped in the distinctive, aerodynamic bodywork that features bright, dual LED headlights, and excellent wind protection from its wide windscreen. The ZX-6R is at home on the street or track, which makes it a perfect motorcycle for riders who want a bike that doesn’t cut corners—it carves them.
