The Yamaha Xenter is a scooter produced by the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha Motor from 2011 to 2020.It was also sold by MBK Industrie renamed MBK Oceo.
The Xenter is a high-wheel scooter with a flat deck presented by Yamaha in November 2011 at the EICMA and was designed by the Yamaha Europe research and development center in Italy specifically for the European market. This model was a direct competitor of the Honda SH in terms of layout and chassis. Aesthetically it presents the classic Yamaha family feeling with the two similar teardrop headlights and the side indicators at the ends similar to the X-City. At the rear it features a design inspired by the Fazer 600.
The mechanics feature a double beam frame with a horizontal monoshock, without links which allows the frame and suspension-transmission to communicate in a similar way to a motorbike. The UBS, Unified Braking System, is standard. The braking system consists of a front disc (267 mm) and a rear drum (150 mm). The wheels are 16 inches with 5-spoke rims. The engines are 125 and 150. The 125 is a single-cylinder that delivers 9.2 kW at 7500 rpm and a torque of 11.9 Nm at 7200 rpm. The 150 is a new 155 cm³ 4-valve single-cylinder engine that delivers a maximum power of 11.6 kW and a maximum torque of 14.8 Nm, both at 7500 rpm.
In September 2012, the special edition “Xenter MotoGp” was presented, produced in a limited edition of 200 units and characterized by Midnight Black paint and Moto GP graphics on the bodywork.
In July 2014 the “MY 2015” version was put on sale, subject to a slight restyling which features a new saddle with visible stitching, a new rear light unit with new transparent lenses, new covering for the under-seat compartment and a new storage drawer in the front shield with rubber mat.
Production ended in 2020.
